US Tech Giant NVIDIA Taps into AI Business Opportunities in Indonesia
Global players are increasingly eyeing Indonesia's potential artificial intelligence (AI) market. One of them is NVIDIA, which has partnered with PT Indosat Tbk to establish an AI center named Indonesia AI Nation in Solo, Central Java. Communications and Information Technology Minister Budi Arie Setiadi stated that the investment value for this project reaches US$200 million or around Rp 3 trillion. Solo was chosen as the investment location due to its sufficiently skilled human resources in the technology sector and the presence of a 5G network.
Budi also mentioned that Indosat's President Director, Vikram Sinha, and Solo's Mayor, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, have discussed this matter. The plan to build the AI center will be executed soon. "As we know, NVIDIA is a chip company, so the scheme is still being arranged," Budi said on Apr. 4.
Indosat has expressed readiness to integrate the NVIDIA Blackwell platform into its infrastructure. Vikram Sinha, Indosat's President Director, hopes that this step will empower Indonesia to advance in a new era of AI-based technological advancement.
