Sulawesi Potentially Become Green Energy Powerhouse

PT PLN (Persero), through its Subholding PLN Indonesia Power, has inked a Joint Development Study Agreement (JDSA) to spearhead a green energy project in Sulawesi alongside China Energy Engineering Group Co Ltd (CEEC). Darmawan Prasodjo, CEO of PLN, highlighted the company's ongoing efforts to foster synergies with national and global partners to expedite the widespread adoption of renewable energy sources (EBT).
According to Darmawan, this initiative aligns seamlessly with Indonesia's 2060 Net Zero Emissions (NZE) target. "This collaboration marks a pivotal moment, especially as the government, in tandem with PLN, is set to unveil a new national electricity business plan (RUKN) soon," he stated on Mar. 21. The RUKN will dictate the development of large-scale renewable energy generation facilities and green transmission lines linking various islands across Indonesia.
