Bandung's Toll Road Project Revived in Jokowi's Last Term

The West Java Government is set to execute the Bandung Intra Urban Toll Road (BIUTR) project, which is included in the national strategic projects list. Bey Triadi Machmudin, Acting Governor of West Java, stated that the West Java Government is coordinating with the Public Works and People's Housing Ministry to kickstart this project. "We're preparing everything we can to expedite the implementation and public outreach," he said on Mar. 26.
The BIUTR project will receive facilities from the central government, such as land acquisition. According to Bey, land acquisition typically poses a challenge in infrastructure projects. The National Asset Management Agency (LMAN) will handle the land acquisition for BIUTR. Bey mentioned that BIUTR could be one solution to the congestion in the Greater Bandung metropolitan area, which consists of Bandung City, Bandung Regency, West Bandung Regency, and Cimahi City.
