Summary

The Indonesian government is revising Presidential Regulation No. 191/2014 regarding the Fuel Provision, Distribution, and Retail Prices. This regulation will address subsidized fuel consumption limitations, specifically for Pertalite and Solar (diesel) fuel types. Arifin Tasrif, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister, stated that the criteria for eligible consumers of subsidized fuel would soon be determined.

Presidential Regulation No. 191/2014 does not specify the categories of recipients entitled to subsidized Pertalite fuel. Consequently, up to this point, anyone can obtain subsidized fuel freely. Arifin mentioned that the revision of Presidential Regulation No. 191/2014 will be released in 2024, at least by the second quarter. "If the targeting isn't precise, it's the government that incurs losses," he said on Mar. 13.
