Power Boost for Bakrie Group: EMP'S Bentu Block Gas Discovery

PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (ENRG), through its subsidiary EMP Bentu Limited, has uncovered a gas in place of 126 billion cubic feet (BCF) from drilling activities at the CEN-01 gas well. Tri Firmanto, the Energi Mega Persada Director, stated that the company plans to drill several development wells, construct gas pipelines, and build additional production facilities to capitalize on this discovery. "We anticipate commencing gas production from the CEN-01 well at an average volume of 45 million standard cubic feet per day in the future," he said on Mar 6.
EMP Bentu Ltd is the operator and owns a 100 percent participating interest in the KKS Bentu Block. Edoardus Ardianto, Energi Mega Persada's Vice President Director, noted that the anticipated increase in gas production from the KKS Bentu Block is expected to positively impact EMP's financial performance in the future. Assuming a gas selling price of US$6 per million metric British thermal unit (MMBTU), the additional gas production of 45 MMSCFD is valued at approximately US$270,000 per day or US$100 million per year.
