In a Hurry to Prepare Land for Prabowo's Food Barn Project
The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) is urging local governments to speed up the completion of 2,000 detailed spatial planning documents (RDTR) to facilitate investment and advance priority development projects, such as the food estate initiative.
"RDTR plays a critical role as the driver of development and serves as the gateway to investment. This applies across all sectors, particularly in development projects, including National Strategic Projects, and land acquisition for the food estate program," stated AHY during the National Working Meeting of the Ministry of ATR/BPN 2024, held in Jakarta on Thursday, March 7.
Prabowo Subianto, the likely successor to Jokowi, aims to achieve food self-sufficiency for Indonesia within three years and transform the country into a food exporter within the next four years, utilizing 5-6 million hectares of marshlands for rice fields.
