TikTok-Tokopedia Transaction and Integration Progress

The Indonesian government is closely monitoring the progress of the TikTok and Tokopedia system integration after the completion of their strategic collaboration. Isy Karim, the Trade Ministry's Director General of Domestic Trade, revealed that after two months of cooperation, the backend migration has reached over 70 percent, with a remaining third of the journey. "It's already more than 70 percent, but the main backend has been successfully revamped," Isy told Bisnis Indonesia on Feb 5.

Meanwhile, Heru Sutadi, Executive Director of the Indonesia ICT Institute, said a three to four-month timeline for system integration is considered reasonable. He cited the example of telecom companies Indosat and Tri, where system migrations took up to a year. "System integration timelines vary depending on the scale and complexity of the integration. Integrating Electronic-Based Government Systems took years to become Indonesia Satu Data," Heru stated.
