ENI Set to Focus on New Segment Development, Old Project Expansion

Italy's oil and gas company Eni S.p.A has injected a substantial investment of US$16 billion into various upstream oil and gas projects in Indonesia. Dwi Soetjipto, the Head of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas), revealed that this investment encompasses the development of projects and existing assets owned by Eni in East Kalimantan.
Among these projects is the expansion of the Jangkrik Field, which is equipped with a floating processing unit (FPU) connecting ten subsea wells. There are also initiatives, such as the development of Maha-2, Geng North, and the Indonesia Deepwater Development (IDD) project. "There are other exploration additions," Dwi said on Feb 2. According to him, Eni recognizes the substantial gas potential in Indonesia, prompting the formulation of long-term plans. "This instills confidence that exploration efforts will uncover new reserves," he added.
