Indonesia Needs Rp 69 Tln for Energy Buffer Reserves

The Indonesian government is set to establish an energy buffer reserves (EBR) in the business and economic context. Three types of energy will be designated for the reserves: crude oil, diesel fuel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). This reserve aims to fulfill Indonesia's energy needs for a period of 30 days, with a budget of Rp 69 trillion. Djoko Siswanto, the National Energy Council Secretary General, stated that the energy buffer reserves will be officially designated through a Presidential Regulation. "Almost all ministers have endorsed it, with the latest being the State-Owned Enterprises Minister, although there are still some clauses under discussion," he said on Jan 18.
Djoko stated they are awaiting an official letter from the State Secretariat regarding input from discussions with the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry and the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry. The energy buffer reserves represent the total availability of national energy resources and stored energy required to meet Indonesia's energy needs over a specific period. According to Djoko, the reserves address crisis and emergency energy conditions.
