Husky-CNOOC Madura to Develop Two New Gas Fields in East Java

Husky – CNOOC Madura Limited (HCML) is advancing the development of two new oil and gas fields: the MDK Field, scheduled to be on-stream by 2026, and the MBF Field by 2027. These two fields will supplement HCML's production, which has relied on the BD Field since 2017, producing 30 Million Metric Standard Feet per Day (MMSCFD) of gas. "HCML continues to develop new gas fields to support achieving the target gas production of 12 Billion Standard Feet per Day (BSFD) by 2030," Hamim Tohari, Regional Office and Relations Manager at HCML, said on Jan 1.
According to Hamim, HCML's peak sales gas production reached 250 MMSCFD, making it the largest in East Java and Central Java. This figure is expected to rise steadily with the development of new fields. Meanwhile, Suryo Birowo, Manager of BD Production at HCML, stated that among the three fields - BD, 2M (MDA-MBH), and MAC - HCML accounts for 30 percent of the total gas production in the East Java region. BD Field's production is supported by the Offshore Wellhead Platform (OWHP), Gas Metering Station (GMS), and Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO).
