Producers Request More Incentives for Electric Motorcycle Ownership

The Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Industry Association (Aismoli) has requested the government to revise the incentives for the purchase of electric motorcycles. According to Aismoli's Chairman Budi Setyadi, the current regulations can accelerate the adoption of electric motorcycles with some adjustments. One of Aismoli's proposals is that the government should not limit the incentives to individuals but also extend them to small businesses. "A small company should be able to purchase electric motorcycles not just in the name of an individual but in the name of an entity," he said on Oct 27.
Budi acknowledges that they are pushing for a program to convert conventional motorcycles into electric ones, making pollution-free transportation accessible to as many people as possible. He believes that the incentives for purchasing and converting electric motorcycles not only make ownership more accessible to those who cannot afford it but also contribute to reducing fuel subsidies and air pollution.
