The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators searched the house of Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo on Thursday.

This search was related to allegations of corruption involving Syahrul and some officials at the Agriculture Ministry. KPK spokesman Ali Fikri did not reveal the details of the case or the evidence seized by the investigators. “The search is still ongoing,” Ali said.

The KPK had previously investigated some officials from the Agriculture Ministry and other parties suspected of corruption on Jul 14. Ali said that this investigation was a follow-up to public reports regarding the practice of placing employees in certain positions.

Minister Syahrul confirmed that he had been summoned twice by the KPK in relation to corruption investigations at his ministry. “I am related to state activities,” he said on Jul 19.
