Prabowo Considers Khofifah and Gibran as Potential Running Mate

A heated discussion is currently seen within the Gerindra Party, with some of the party activists starting to regret the party’s decision to let go of Muhaimin Iskandar and the National Awakening Party (PKB) to join Anies Baswedan and NasDem Party-led Coalition.
Gerindra is now starting to realize that it might lose its grips in East Java, as recorded by the growing support displayed by Nahdlatul Ulama clerics from some influential Islamic traditional boarding schools in East Java to the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar.
To anticipate worsening conditions, the Gerindra Party has been intensifying efforts to gain NU grassroots support by asking East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawangsa to join the wagon by becoming either the vice-president candidate or the campaigning team leader. At the same time, Prabowo has also been eyeing Surakarta Major Gibran Rakabuming Raka for the VP candidate position.
