China’s Envision Aggressive Hunt for Wind Power Projects Across RI
Envision Energy, a renewable energy company from China, is pursuing wind power generation projects across Indonesia. Recently, the company proposed to build a wind power plant in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
Assistant III to the Regent of West Lombok, Hendrayadi, asked Envision to inform the public about the impacts and benefits of the wind power plant so that it does not create any problems in the future. “An additional electricity supply will open up more investment opportunities, especially in the Sekotong tourist area,” he said in mid-September.
Ricky, a representative of PT Envision Green Energy Indonesia, said his company has experience in building wind power plants and zero-carbon industrial areas in several countries, such as China, France, Singapore, and others.
He said that if the tender is successful and the permit is granted, Envision will start by building a met mast or a wind measurement tower. “Based on our survey, the best location for building a met mast is in Sekotong,” he said. Envision will construct turbines with a width of 120 meters and a height of 140 meters.
Envision also has plans to build a wind power plant in Blitar Regency, East Java. Last March, the company started reviewing the MoU to be signed with the Blitar district government. This is the stage before conducting the feasibility study.
