IKN Welcomes Private Construction in Mid-September
Private companies will begin to build their projects in the new capital city of Nusantara in mid-September 2023. The projects include a hotel, a hospital, a mall, and sports facilities, with a total investment value of Rp 40 trillion.
“Next week, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new capital city project will take place, with private investment and no state budget funds,” IKN Authority’s Funding and Investment Deputy Agung Wicaksono said on Wednesday.
Agung said that ten domestic companies were involved in this initial project, but he did not reveal their names or details. He expressed his optimism that these private projects will attract more investors to fund the new capital city project.
“I want to say that this is an opportunity that has never existed in Indonesian history or world history because this capital city moved from one island to another. This is the first time,” he said.
