Summary

PT Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN), a subsidiary of PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR), will collaborate with a consortium of Japanese companies on the Legok Nangka Waste to Energy Plant (PLTSa) project in Bandung Regency, West Java.

This consortium includes Sumitomo Corporation, Hitachi Zozen Corporation, and EPN, which secured the project through an auction at the West Java Investment Summit.

Under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, this consortium will join forces with the West Java Provincial Government to manage the processing of 2,000 tons of waste daily.

EPN's Business Development Director Achmad Rizal Roesindrawan expressed the company's commitment to advancing renewable energy within the UNTR Group and actively participating in curbing greenhouse gas emissions in Indonesia.

Besides Sumitomo Corporation's consortium, the Legok Nangka Project has garnered support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) since 2019.

JICA has pioneered the creation of a viable Waste to Energy PPP project in Indonesia, particularly within the West Java Province.

JICA's Transaction Advisory Service plays a pivotal role in assisting the West Java Provincial Government with the planning, drafting, and formulation of the Legok Nangka project. JICA remains resolute in its dedication to supporting this project until its financial close.
