Summary

The Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) is eyeing carbon investment opportunities through the nature-based solution (NBS) in collaboration with Pollination.

Based on the terms of the memorandum of understanding signed on Wednesday, both parties will identify investment opportunities, develop nature-based projects, and improve strategic planning for the NBS financing and investment.

INA CEO Ridha Wirakusumah revealed that Indonesia has the second largest NBS potential in the world, covering 75 percent of carbon stocks in Southeast Asia.

INA focuses on the clean energy sector which is crucial in the country's energy transition. NBS encourages more conservations, improved land management, and land restorations to increase carbon storage. "We see a concrete effort to generate significant carbon credits and encourage nature-based investments," he said on Wednesday.
