Pertamina Drills Exploration Well in Wiriaga Field, West Papua

Pertamina EP-Petroenergy Utama Wiriagar Joint Operation (KSO) started drilling the WPL-3X exploration well in the Wiriagar Field, which is part of the Wiriagar Block in Teluk Bintuni Regency, West Papua, on Monday.
The well is being drilled vertically with Rig WBR 02 (450 HP), and it is expected to reach a final depth of 600 feet measured depth (ftMD).
The objective of the WPL-3X exploration well is to test and evaluate the oil and gas potential in the Kais Formation. The drilling program will last for about two months.
“The Upstream Oil and Gas Business Regulatory Task Force [SKK Migas] continues to support the exploration well drilling program in eastern Indonesia because there is still a huge oil and gas potential there,” SKK Migas Deputy for Exploration and Development Work Area Management Benny Lubiantara said on Tuesday.
