Summary

Vena Energy, Suntech, Powin, and REPT Battero have jointly entered into a framework agreement to construct an integrated production line for solar panel components and battery energy storage systems (BESS) on Batam Island, Riau Islands Province.

This agreement was formally signed during a ceremony held in Jakarta on Monday. The collaboration is geared towards bolstering Vena Energy's ongoing hybrid project in Batam.

The project, currently under development, boasts a formidable solar energy capacity exceeding 2 gigawatts (GW), coupled with a BESS that holds the potential to accommodate over 8 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean energy.

The solar power generated by the plant will be exported to Singapore by Vena Energy through Shell Eastern Trading Pte. "We want to contribute to the growth of the domestic supply chain within the renewable energy sector. This endeavor aligns with Indonesia's energy transition plan and seeks to invigorate the local economy by generating employment opportunities, fostering industrial expansion, and creating exports opportunity," Vena Energy CEO Nitin Apte said.
