Energi Agro to Build Biodiesel Refinery in Maloy Batuta SEZ

The Maloy Batuta Trans Kalimantan (MBTK) Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in East Kutai Regency has secured a new investment of Rp 800 billion from PT Energi Agro Investama.

The cooperation agreement between MBTK and PT Energi Agro Investama was signed at the East Kalimantan Governor’s Office on Monday, witnessed by the East Kalimantan Provincial Secretary Sri Wahyuni.

Sri Wahyuni said that Energi Agro is a company engaged in the downstream processing industry for Crude Palm Oil (CPO). “The company will build a refinery that produces biodiesel with an investment of Rp 800 billion,” Sri Wahyuni said in Samarinda on Monday.

According to Sri Wahyuni, the company would build a refinery that produces biodiesel in the MBTK SEZ in five phases. She also said that this was the first CPO downstream industry in East Kalimantan, as the province previously only had a similar sector in Sumatra.
