Summary

West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil claimed Chinese automotive company Wuling Motor would pump Rp 2 trillion into Indonesia’s electric car industry by building a factory in the province.

The plan was agreed upon during his visit to the electric vehicle industry in Liuzhou City, Guangxi, China.

"We have to get the ball rolling and not simply wait for it. That was why we went to the Wuling Motor headquarters in Liuzhou City, Guangxi," he revealed in a written statement.

For the record, Liuzhou City is the sister city of Bandung, and 60 percent of vehicles on its road are electrified. "The city is clean, and the pollution is very minimal," he added.
