Summary

Investment Minister/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia confirmed that four large Chinese companies would establish factories in the North Kalimantan (Kaltara) Green Industrial Estate.

However, he did not specify what companies and how much the investments would be. He only hinted that they would start the construction later this year. "I accompanied President Jokowi in a meeting with several well-known CEOs. There were four big CEOs who wanted to invest in Kaltara's green industries. They will break grounds after completing the Chinese government requirements, likely in December this year," he said in a press statement posted on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.

Bahlil also informed that these four companies will focus on developing the downstream petrochemical sector and the electric vehicle ecosystem.
