Makassar Opens Tender of Rp 400 Bln Makassar Core City Arena
The Makassar City Government plans to raise the budget for building the Makassar Core City Arena (Macca) sports facility project in the Untia-integrated sports area from Rp 270 billion to Rp 400 billion. The budget increase came after the tender auction failed earlier this year.
Makassar City Youth and Sports Agency Head Andi Pattiware said that five companies had passed the pre-qualification stage at the previous auction. However, none of them submitted bids at the qualification stage. Andi Pattiware said that they argued that the ceiling set by the government was lower than their Self-Estimated Price (HPS).
Therefore, they were reluctant to bid because they thought it would hurt the developer. “They had several reasons. First, they had a problem with the evaluation method, which they thought was inappropriate for design and build using the lowest price threshold. Second, their HPS was higher than the ceiling, meaning that the existing ceiling was insufficient,” he said.
Therefore, the Makassar City Government decided to add Rp 130 billion to the development budget for the Macca project, making it Rp 400 billion. “We will propose this budget to the Revised Regional Budget [APBD]. We have consulted with the regional finance agency, and they agreed to make an addendum,” Andi said.
He added that the tender would be reopened in October and the winner would be announced in December.
