China Railway Aims for Railway Projects in Nusantara Capital

Indonesia is actively exploring cooperation opportunities with Chinese companies to enhance the railroad infrastructure in the National Capital (IKN) Nusantara. This collaborative effort was initiated during a meeting between the Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi and the President Director of China Railway International (CRIC) Ju Guojiang on Thursday.
"We warmly welcome and encourage further participation and cooperation in the development of transportation infrastructure projects, particularly in the expansion of railways in IKN or other infrastructure initiatives," Budi Karya said in a written statement on Friday.
Director General of Railways Risal Wasal expressed that the government has ambitious plans to improve community mobility in IKN. Among the notable projects on the agenda are the Urban Train Project, Trans Kalimantan Train, and Sepinggan-IKN Airport Train. "These plans are quite challenging, and we hope to successfully realize them to support the development of the New Capital City of Nusantara," Risal said.
