Summary

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) have agreed to enhance their collaboration in sustainable finance, specifically focusing on carbon exchange trading in Indonesia.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between OJK and KLHK has become a legal framework for the exchange and utilization of carbon trading data through the SRN-PPI (National Registry System for Climate Change Control).

OJK’s Board of Commissioners Chairman Mahendra Siregar said the MoU represented a pivotal milestone in connecting the SRN-PPI with the carbon exchange trading registry, in compliance with OJK regulations.

“This is a crucial step that paves the way for future collaborations, including those related to human resources, information exchange, promotion, socialization, and roadshows both domestically and internationally. These initiatives aim to prepare the public, market participants, and stakeholders to embrace the forthcoming Indonesian carbon exchange,” Mahendra said on Wednesday.
