Bali to Charge Foreign Tourists US$10 per Visit in 2024
The Bali Provincial Government will charge Rp 150,000 or around US$10 to every foreign tourist who wants to visit the Paradise Island. Foreign tourists can pay the fee electronically or through e-payment. Bali Governor I Wayan Koster said the policy was planned to be implemented next year.
“We set it in rupiah so that the foreign tourists do not follow the dollar exchange rate. We charge Rp 150,000 per visit,” he said at the Bali Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) office.
The fee for foreign tourists is based on Law No. 15/2023 on the Bali Province. The regulation allows the regional administration to obtain funding sources through fees for foreign tourists traveling to Bali. This fee is regulated by Regional Regulation.
Koster said the fee revenue would be the Bali Provincial Government’s original regional income (PAD). The funds will be used to build tourism infrastructure in Bali. “The revenue from this fee will be managed by regional and related agencies in a planned, directed, targeted, transparent, and accountable way,” the PDI-P politician said.
