Pertamina Builds Green Refineries in Cilacap and Plaju

PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) is dedicated to transforming its existing refineries into green refineries to manufacture environmentally friendly products. Currently, KPI is constructing green refineries in the Cilacap Refinery complex in Central Java and the Plaju Refinery in South Sumatra.

Pertamina aims to enhance the production of various biofuels, including Pertamina Renewable Diesel (RD) derived from hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), bio-aviation fuel, and bionaphta. The projected timeline for the completion of the green refinery project is no later than 2027. "Pertamina's Green Refinery represents KPI's commitment to producing high-quality and eco-friendly fuels," KPI President Director Taufik Aditiyawarman said on Friday.
