A US-based company, Wabtec Corporation, agreed to supply parts worth US$190 million for several years to PT Imeco Inter Sarana (Imeco) that will support PT Kereta Api Indonesia’s (KAI) fleet of 150 locomotives.

KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo said that Wabtec has been a long-term partner for 70 years. “This deal strengthens our long, successful partnership,” Didiek said in a statement on Monday.

Wabtec provides technical services and spare parts for more than 350 locomotives in KAI’s fleet. Under this agreement, Wabtec will deliver spare parts for 150 CM20EMP locomotives that belong to KAI’s CC206 fleet.

This cooperation also includes the provision of overhaul kits to support the localization of maintenance and remanufacturing of trains. “This supply arrangement will ensure the reliable operation of the rail to transport millions of passengers and tons of freight every year,” Wabtec’s president of global freight services, Alicia Hammersmith, said.
