VKTR's assembly plant
Summary

PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR) is expanding its business by building an assembly plant for electric buses and trucks in Magelang, Central Java.

A joint venture between VKTR and PT Tri Sakti, PT VKTR Sakti Industries, will handle the project in collaboration with a well-known construction company from China, Automotive Engineering Corporation (AE Corp).

The 1.8-hectare plant will sit on a 4.05-hectare area with a production capacity of 1,500 units per year or about six units per day in the early stage. The facility will allow for assembling chassis and cabin, welding, painting, trimming, debugging, rectification for body & function tests, truck body installation, final audit, and testing.

"The expansion and development of this production facility is proof of our sincerity in supporting the government's programs to achieve Net-Zero Emissions by 2060. We will gradually increase the domestic content level [TKDN] to 80 percent," VKTR president director Gilarsi W. Setijono said in a statement on Monday.
