Summary

The Transportation Ministry announced the plan to extend the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail (KCJB) route to Surabaya through Yogyakarta. "The name will still be the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail, but we will program the train to also serve Surabaya through Yogyakarta in the future,” Transportation Ministry’s Railways Director General Mohamad Risal Wasal said during a hearing with the House’s Commission V in Jakarta.

In Bandung, the fast train integration will be at Padalarang Station. Feeder trains will be available there, but not at KCJB's final station in Tegalluar. "With the feeder trains, it will take around 15 minutes from Padalarang Station to Bandung, meaning that the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail trip will take 39 minutes in total," he elaborated.

He also assured that both KCJB and the Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) would operate this year. The LRT commercial use will commence operational on Aug 18, while the high-speed rail will still be on the trial phase at the same time.
