Fintech
Summary

Indonesia-based payment gateway provider Doku will expand to the Philippines and Vietnam in 2023.

Doku CEO Chris Yeo revealed the company's plan to cement its position as the market leader in the Southeast Asian region. "We are actively exploring opportunities for mergers and acquisitions. Our priorities are countries with similar market characteristics to Indonesia," he said, as quoted by The Daily Social on Tuesday.

Chris also acknowledged that small and medium businesses commonly found in the Southeast Asian region would be Doku's priorities in the short term.

Many of them employ digital platforms and social media to reach consumers, thus creating the need for digital payment solutions. Doku will target social sellers, especially those who have difficulty managing payment transactions from sales on various social media.
