Kendal Industrial Park Secures 90 Tenants
Many companies showed their interest in operating in the industrial area after the government lifted the pandemic status of COVID-19, according to Kendal Industrial Park head of sales & marketing Juliani Kusumaningrum. In 2018-2022, interested companies only took an average of 1-3 hectares.
However, once the COVID-19 pandemic subsided, many plan to take up to 10 hectares of land. "About 80 percent of the park has been filled [in the first development phase]. There are already 90 [tenants]," she said.
About 29 companies are already operating, 14 are in the construction stage, and the rest are in the pre-construction stage. About 48 percent of these 90 tenants are Indonesian companies, and most of them also operate in industrial areas in Cikarang, Bekasi (West Java), and Tangerang (Banten).
Meanwhile, the remaining 52 percent are foreign or multinational companies from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea engaged in the fashion, electronics, food, and beverage sectors. The latest company investing in the industrial park was German company Hans Dinslage GmbH through PT Beuer Indonesia Technology. The company will build a medical device factory.
