Ride-hailing platform inDrive launches an electric motorcycle initiative in partnership with IVITECH.Drive. This strategic move aims to tap into the electric motorcycle market in Indonesia while also empowering the online motorcycle taxi community through an electric motorcycle rental program.

inDrive Indonesia Business Development Manager Georgy Malkov explained that the idea for this program arose from the fact that some drivers did not own motorcycles.

Malkov highlighted the challenges faced by many drivers, who have to bear daily rental fees in order to work. "We firmly believe in providing equal opportunities and freedom to all individuals seeking employment, which led us to conceive this initiative as a means of granting access to affordable electric vehicles," Malkov said on Thursday.

As part of the program, inDrive offers 50 electric motorcycles for rent exclusively to online motorcycle taxi drivers.
