Patrick Walujo's on Mission to Strengthen GOTO’s Fintech Arm

Patrick Sugito Walujo, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Northstar Group, will become the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), replacing Andre Soelistyo. This was announced in the agenda of GOTO’s annual shareholders’ meeting and the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting on Jun 30.
GOTO plans to make major changes in the composition of its board of directors and board of commissioners. In addition to Patrick Walujo, the company also nominated Thomas Husted as vice president director. Husted will also serve as GOTO’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). Previously, Husted was Gojek Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
“As one of Gojek’s first investors and Commissioner of GOTO, I have always had great confidence in the company. If the shareholders approve my nomination, I will drive the growth of the business units, continue to optimize the company’s strategy towards profit targets, and strengthen the foundation for long-term growth,” Patrick said on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Andre Soelistyo will join the board of commissioners. “Later, in his role as commissioner, Andre will oversee and provide strategic direction to management in order to achieve a positive adjusted EBITDA target by the end of the year and sustainable growth in the long term,” GOTO management said as quoted by a press release on Thursday. The company also proposed that Agus DW Martowardojo become the company’s president commissioner, succeeding Garibaldi “Boy” Thohir.
