Nivea and Hansaplast producer Beiersdorf recently completed a plant expansion and revitalization project in Malang, East Java. Valued at EUR 26 million or approximately Rp 414 billion, this investment has significantly enhanced the company's production capabilities.

"Our production capacity has increased to over 174 million pieces, from 122 million pieces," PT Beiersdorf Indonesia President Director Mehdi Ben Messaoud said during the factory's grand opening last May.

Ben Messaoud further elaborated that the plant expansion is part of a broader initiative to fortify the company's global production network, aiming to cater to the increasing demand from local and international markets.

Deputy for Investment Promotion at Investment Ministry/BKPM Nurul Ichwan expressed hopes for Beiersdorf to establish Indonesia as its production hub in the ASEAN region. The ministry is committed to providing assistance should the company have plans to expand its business in that direction within Indonesia.
