Greenfields to Spend Rp 750 Bln for New Farm in Malang

PT Greenfields Dairy Indonesia (Greenfields Indonesia) will build a new farm in Malang, East Java. The company has allocated Rp 880 billion in capital expenditure this year, Rp 750 billion of which is for the construction of three farms.

Currently, the company has two farms in East Java: a 45.59-hectare farm in the Mount Kawi area, Malang Regency, and a 168.63-hectare farm in Blitar Regency.

"We have prepared the land [for the third farm], but construction has not started yet," Greenfields Indonesia head of manufacturing Darmanto Setiawan said at the Greenfields factory in Malang, East Java, last week.

The company will also spend Rp 115 billion to improve kennel facilities at existing farms to accommodate newborn cows. The number of cows increases by around four to five percent every year.

As for manufacturing needs, Greenfields has allocated Rp 15 billion for procurement since last year.
