VW to Pursue Global EV Domination in Indonesian Soil

German car manufacturer Volkswagen (VW) has planned to conduct a feasibility study in the next few months to build an electric vehicle (EV) battery factory in Indonesia, the government confirmed. Investment Ministry Secretary Ikmal Lukman said VW would spend US$5 billion for the factory construction.

“They will supply the world’s battery needs,” Ikmal said on Sunday.

Ikmal went on the VW battery factory construction would be commenced this year. VW has also determined the location of the factory. Later, the factory would not only produce EV batteries, but also electric cars. VW has also intended to collaborated with several national and foreign companies to realize this big project.
