Airport Expansions in North Kalimantan Hampered by Land Acquisition

The North Kalimantan provincial administration's intention to expand the Tanjung Harapan Airport and the Juwata Tarakan International Airport is facing land acquisition problems.

North Kalimantan Transportation Agency head H. Andi Nasuha revealed that the expansion would be carried out in stages every year according to the master plan and budget approved by the central government. He also assured that these problems would not stop the expansion work at the Tanjung Harapan Airport.

"For the Tanjung Harapan Airport, there will be work to increase the strength in the runway this year," he said while informing that routine maintenance will be carried out in the Juwata Tarakan International Airport.
