Luhut Asks China Jushi to Build Fiberglass Factory in Indonesia

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan asked Chinese fiberglass producer China Jushi Co Ltd to invest in Indonesia. China Jushi is one of the world’s leading fiberglass producers with a global sales and service network.

“The high global demand for fiberglass finally motivated me to urge them to open a factory in Indonesia,” Luhut said on Tuesday.

China Jushi, a subsidiary of China National Building Material Co Ltd, visited Indonesia in 2022 to survey and research the possibility of establishing a factory in Indonesia.

Luhut Said, the existence of a fiberglass factory in Indonesia can strongly support the downstream industry program that President Joko Widodo is actively promoting.

He also said that Indonesia has abundant silica sand, the industry’s primary raw material. “Thus, silica sand will not only be mined and exported raw but will provide tens of thousands of downstream industries that will increase added value.”
