PT GA Tiga Belas, the owner of the bookstore network Gunung Agung, will finally close all of its outlets by the end of 2023. Its management revealed that the company could not bear more losses anymore.

"The closure of stores/outlets that occurred in 2020 will not be the last because, by the end of 2023, we plan to close the remaining ones," GA Tiga Belas' statement reads on Monday.

GA Tiga Belas board of directors stated that, even though they closed several bookstores in Surabaya, Semarang, Gresik, Magelang, Bogor, Bekasi, and Jakarta during the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has been implementing some efficiency measures since 2013.

On the other hand, Association of Indonesian Trade Union (ASPEK) president Mirah Sumirat claimed to have received some reports on GA Tiga Belas' decision to terminate 350 workers unilaterally.
