Indonesia Woos Germany to Invest in Solar Panels Industry

The Indonesian government is inviting German investors to invest in solar panel technology in Indonesia as a strategic move to counter China's global solar panel industry domination.

Secretary General of the Energy Ministry Rida Mulyana said the government has officially requested Germany to share its solar panel technology with Indonesia. This request was made during the G7 2022 Summit held in Schloss Elmau, Germany, in the middle of last year.

"During the summit, we met with two German ministers to discuss the possible transfer of technology directly to Indonesia and contribute to its development in the country," Rida said on Tuesday, emphasizing that this collaboration is crucial to balance the power in the global solar panel industry and reduce dependence on China.
