Kayan LNG Operates Mini LNG Refinery in North Kalimantan

PT Kayan LNG Nusantara officially operates the first mini LNG refinery in Tanjung Keramat, Tanah Tidung Regency, North Kalimantan, on Sunday.
The facility is expected to meet energy needs in nearby small islands. The refinery will process 22 million cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas from JOB Pertamina-Medco E&P Simenggaris. Its products will be stored in 40-feet isotank cylinders and shipped to domestic and overseas consumers.
Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry's director of oil and gas infrastructure planning and development Laode Sulaeman appreciated the operation of the first mini LNG refinery in Indonesia.
The technology employed by the refinery allows for better LNG distribution in small islands across Indonesia. He also expected the oil and gas industry to develop similar refinery projects in other areas.
