Kharim Siregar Hands Over Leadership of Bank Jago to Arief Tandjung

PT Bank Jago Tbk (ARTO) announced the agenda of its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, which will be held on May 25. One of the meeting agendas is the change in the composition of the board of directors. The company proposes Arief Harris Tandjung as the president director to replace the previous official, Kharim Siregar, whose term of office will expire on May 25.
This change will be effective after obtaining approval from the Financial Services Authority (OJK). "The company will propose to its shareholders through the annual meeting to obtain approval for changes in the composition of the Board of Directors by appointing Arief Harris Tandjung as President Director, starting from the date specified in the meeting and after obtaining approval from the OJK," Bank Jago's management said in information disclosure on Wednesday.
Arief is not a new person. Together with Kharim, he helped develop BTPN and then Bank Jago. Long before that, the 51-year-old electrical engineering graduate from the University of Indonesia had worked in many banks, including PT Bank Danamon Tbk, Standard Chartered, PT Bank Permata Tbk, and PT Bank BTPN Tbk. Unlike Kharim, who is known as an IT specialist banker, Arief has spent more of his career in finance.
"Kharim has built the foundation of Bank Jago, which is very solid, has good fundamentals, and has his own position in the digital bank industry as a tech-based bank that can be embedded in the ecosystem. My job is to maintain and continue his legacy and take this bank to a higher level," Arief said.
