Budi Waseso Faces Tough Task in His Second Term as Bulog Head

State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Minister Erick Thohir re-appointed Budi Waseso as Perum Bulog's president director based on the SOEs Ministerial Decree No. SK-91/MBU/04/2023 issued on Apr 27. "The entire Perum Bulog family congratulates Mr. Budi Waseso for his reappointment as President Director," a post on the Instagram account @perum.bulog reads.

Budi replaced Djarot Kusumayakti as the Bulog head in 2018. Previously, the 63-year-old man served as National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency head in 2015 and the National Narcotics Agency head from 2015 to 2018. His last rank was Lieutenant General of the Police. A month before his first term in Bulog ended, Budi admitted that he had not prepared anything. "I have no problem if I have to go elsewhere. I have worked according to the contract, and the contract is over. It's normal," he said on Mar 15.
