Mayapada, InterContinental Strengthen Allies in Bali’s Hospitality
Mayapada Group is expanding its cooperation with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG Hotels & Resorts) in the hotel business. In 2024, the two companies will launch a luxury hotel under the Voco brand and a mid-priced hotel under the Holiday Inn Express brand in Seminyak, Bali.
Previously, Mayapada partnered with InterContinental to operate their resort in Sanur, replacing the Fairmont Group. The two companies also manage the Holiday Inn Bali, located in Sanur.
Mayapada Hospitality President Director Victoria Tahir is optimistic about the company's expansion in Bali with InterContinental. "Bali is one of the world's top tourist destinations. In partnership with IHG, we want to create a memorable stay for our guests. We are delighted to expand our relationship across the InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and voco brands," she said during a formal agreement signing with InterContinental earlier this month.
InterContinental already operates 25 hotels in Indonesia, including seven in Bali. The company is preparing to open four additional properties in Bali, including Voco Bali Seminyak and Holiday Inn Express Sunset Road, in partnership with the Mayapada Group. Voco Bali Seminyak will be the first voco hotel in Indonesia. Voco has already opened hotels in the UK, Australia, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.
"Our agreement with Mayapada Group complements our existing estate and enables us to strengthen our presence as a market leader in this key destination," IHG Vice President Development for Southeast Asia and Korea, Patrick Finn, said on the same occasion.
