Cakap Achieves Centaur Status After Nailing Series C Funding

Language education technology (edtech) startup Cakap has achieved Centaur status as it now has more than US$100 million in valuation after securing an undisclosed amount of Series C1 funding from MDI Ventures and Heritas Capital. Cakap Co-Founder Tomy Yunus said this latest funding round has catapulted the company's valuation to six figures.
The recent funding will further boost Cakap's business performance across its three key business pillars: language, upskill, and business. "We are grateful for the investors' trust in this Series C1 funding," Tomy said on Wednesday.
MDI Ventures Chief Executive Officer Donald Wiharja believes that this funding would further solidify the existing synergy between Telkom Group, MDI parent company and Cakap. Meanwhile, Heritas Capital's Executive Director Chik Wai Chiew sees Cakap as a leading edutech company in Indonesia, with significant potential for growth and the ability to make an impact throughout Southeast Asia.
