East Kalimantan to Accelerate Maloy SEZ Development

Summary

East Kalimantan One-Stop Investment and Services Agency (DPMPTSP) head Puguh Harjanto revealed the agency's attempt to remodel the development strategy for the Maloy Batuta Trans Kalimantan Special Economic Zone (MBTK SEZ) in East Kutai because some investors have left the project.

Since 2021, Maloy SEZ's investors have kept changing. The East Kalimantan DPMPTSP has conducted an evaluation and will work closely with other regional officials to accelerate the project.

"After evaluating, we will carry out an overhaul in the future. The East Kalimantan Industry, Trade and Cooperative Office will arrange another study for Maloy SEZ," Puguh said. The local administration will fix the infrastructure to support industries in the area.
