Cirebon Unit 2 Coal Power Plant to Operate in May

Summary

Cirebon Power, a PT Indika Energy Tbk (INDY) Group subsidiary, announced that the Cirebon Unit 2 Coal-fired Power Plant (PLTU) in Cirebon Regency, West Java, will be operational by mid-May. Cirebon Power's Deputy Director Joseph Pangalila said the progress of the 1,000-megawatt (MW) capacity coal-fired power plant construction reached 99.81 percent.

To date, Cirebon Power is in the middle of conducting commissioning process of the Cirebon Unit 2 Power Plant, and has able to produce 581,000 MWh, to supply the Java-Madura-Bali electricity network.

"We hope that the completion of unit 2 will also contribute to the development of the region," Joseph said on Sunday.
