Summary

PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will supply 4,000 megawatts (MW) of electricity to support the acceleration of downstream industries in Indonesia under co-investment cooperation.

The state-owned utility company is teaming up with five strategic industries, from integrated industrial areas and the smelter industry to the data center industry, after signing a memorandum of understanding last Wednesday. PLN president director Darmawan Prasodjo claimed it was part of the company's contribution to the government's attempts to establish downstream segments.

"We are very aware that electricity is important for the industrial sector. We are ready to facilitate all the sector's electricity needs. We currently have a very reliable electricity supply and will ensure that all of our electrical systems are up to the task," he said on Friday.
