West Sumbawa, Amman Mineral to Build Rp 390 Billion Airport
West Sumbawa regent H. W. Musyafirin revealed the need for proper infrastructure to support the regency's connectivity and tourism sector.
"Fast connectivity is important. That is why we are trying to work with PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMNT) and build an airport in Kiantar Village, Poto Tano District," he said. The project is estimated to require Rp 390 billion. Musyafirin admitted that the West Sumbawa Regency could not solely rely on the mining sector hence the plan to look for alternatives.
To support tourism in West Sumbawa Regency, West Sumbawa Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) deputy speaker Abidin Nasar revealed that the council had passed three Regional Regulations: the Regional Regulation No. 12/2020 on the regional tourism development masterplan, the Regional Regulation No. 09/2021 on the culture implementation, and the Regional Regulation on tourism villages.
